Russian bank Sberbank (SBER.MM) announced on Monday that it had released technology called GigaChat as a competitor to ChatGPT. At first, the technology was only available to people who were invited to test it, joining the race to create the best AI robot.
The company OpenAI, which is backed by Microsoft (MSFT.O), made a chatbot called ChatGPT, which came out last year. This has sped up the race to get AI into the hands of more people. The goal is to change the way people work and get more money along the way.
Sberbank said that what made GigaChat stand out was that it could talk in Russian more wisely than other neural networks from other countries.
In recent years, Russia’s biggest bank has put a lot of money into technology in order to make the country less dependent on imports. This is a very important step now that the West has cut exports to Russia and put harsh sanctions in place because of Moscow’s actions in Ukraine.
